Production MIG-TIG Welder

Job Title: Production MIG-TIG Welder

Job Description: P&C has 4 openings for Production MIG/TIG Welders in Dept. 60, 1 for 1st Shift, 1 for 2nd shift and 2 for 3rd shift.

Primary Activities are:
Set up work station with appropriate weld fixture and gauge according to an operator check sheet.
Set up MIG and TIG welding equipment according to a Welding Procedure Specification.
Manually weld using the TIG and MIG welding processes to manufacture components, consistently maintaining appropriate production levels.
Troubleshoot welders and fixtures to ensure both the quality and maximum levels of production.
Operate machines to process parts, consistently maintaining appropriate production levels.
Operate machines to process parts, such as loading and unloading components, etc Troubleshoot machines to ensure both the quality and maximum levels of production.
Take components out of bins and place in machines.
Read, understand, and complete all production paperwork.
Efficiently utilize machine downtime.
Perform production support activities as directed by the Team Leader.
Follow set-up instructions when setting up welders, and follow general operator instructions when operating machines.
Perform necessary first piece inspections and inspections of components in-process per quality check sheet.
Use fixtures to determine production acceptability. Conduct quality checks per quality check sheet, including visual inspections.
Use calipers and micrometers as required by work center.
Operate the CMM and interpret the CMM Report.
Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job.
Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area.
Provide necessary, accurate, and timely feedback of all pertinent information to co-workers and management.
Effectively communicate with co-workers and management personnel to enhance teamwork and communication initiatives.
Consistently adhere to, and support, company policies and procedures, including ISO, TS16949, and safety regulations.
Accept instructions and duties in a positive manner.
Treat all co-workers with dignity and respect.
Assist in maintaining P&C values (Integrity, People, Customer, Leadership, We can if…, Do what it takes…Safely) daily, through thoughts and actions.

Requirements: Qualified candidates will possess a Diploma or GED, six months of production MIG and TIG (hand) welding experience, including experience with setting up and troubleshooting TIG and MIG welding equipment, three months of experience operating machines such as robotic welders, as well as an excellent work record, including attendance. A practical test will be administered to measure welding skills. Familiarity with Welding Procedure Specifications, CMM experience and computer literacy desired.
